Elena Dahabeya
Director of Kazafy Troupe Greece
For over 15 years, Elena has danced alongside Maestro Mohamed Kazafy, leading productions across Europe and passing on the artistry of Kazafy style. Known for her elegance, power, and deep connection to the music, she offers dancers a rare chance to train in the authentic troupe style of Egypt.
Chronis Taxidis
International Percussionist
Chronis has dedicated his career to Arabic percussion, performing with musicians and dancers across Europe and beyond. His tabla brings rhythms to life with passion and precision. At Raqs Helsinki, you’ll not only study rhythms with him – you’ll have the chance to dance live with him at the Hafla.

Step into the fiery rhythm of Upper Egypt!
In this dynamic seminar, Elena will teach you authentic Kazafy-style Assaya (stick) technique – powerful, grounded, and full of playful attitude.
You’ll master key Saidi movements and learn a stage-ready choreography that blends strength, joy, and elegance.
Kazafy Troupe Experience, Part II: Muwashahat Choreography (Elena Dayabeya) Sunday 13.15 - 15.15, Studio Pausa
Enter the world of Kazafy troupe training with a lyrical, refined Muwashahat choreography.
This seminar focuses on unity, musicality, and stage presence. The elements that define the Kazafy troupe’s unmistakable elegance.
You’ll experience how movement, expression, and emotion merge into one graceful storytelling dance.
The Language of Rhythm

In this 2-hour seminar, Chronis will guide us into the world of Arabic rhythms – the essential heartbeat of Oriental dance.
Learn how to recognize, count, and embody the most important rhythms every dancer must know.
Tabla Solo Secrets & Live Improvisation

Learn how to connect with the tabla: accents, transitions, and improvisation skills.
Then step into the magic of live drum solo practice, a dialogue between dancer and musician.
